Welcome to my campaign platform. I am Paul D. Diaz, and I am running for Winter Springs City Commissioner because I believe in a brighter, more prosperous future for our community. My platform focuses on the key issues that matter most to the residents of Winter Springs. Here is my vision and plan for our city:

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal transparency and responsible budgeting are the cornerstones of my campaign. I will:

• Implement transparent budgeting processes to ensure every taxpayer dollar is accounted for and used efficiently.

• Reduce unnecessary expenditures while maintaining essential services to keep taxes low.

• Promote financial literacy and community involvement in budgetary decisions.

Improving Wastewater Infrastructure

Our city’s aging wastewater system needs urgent attention. I will:

• Develop a comprehensive plan to upgrade and modernize wastewater facilities.

• Address flooding issues and prevent environmental hazards through improved infrastructure.

• Work closely with state and federal agencies to secure funding for necessary upgrades.

Enhancing Public Safety

A safe community is a thriving community. I will:

• Support and strengthen the Winter Springs Police Department to ensure top-notch police protection.

• Expand community policing programs to build trust and collaboration between residents and law enforcement.

• Improve emergency response times and resources to enhance public safety.

Economic Development

Economic growth is vital for our community’s prosperity. I will:

• Foster a business-friendly environment by creating a special business district for West Winter Springs.

• Encourage local entrepreneurship and attract new businesses to our city.

• Support local dining and commercial districts to create a thriving economy.

Community Building and Engagement

A strong community is built on active engagement and shared spaces. I will:

• Develop a new community center with modern facilities, including a library, networking space, co-working areas, and an aquatic center.

• Promote community events, youth sports, and family activities to bring residents together.

• Encourage public input and participation in city decisions by lifting the ban on public comments on the city’s social media platforms.

Education and Youth Engagement

Our youth are the future of Winter Springs. I will:

• Partner with local schools to improve educational outcomes and provide resources for success.

• Support youth sports and recreational programs to keep our children active and engaged.

• Advocate for resources to combat drug use, particularly fentanyl, and support mental health initiatives in partnership with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

Environmental Sustainability

Winter Springs must be a leader in environmental stewardship. I will:

• Increase tree planting and green spaces in the city, supporting our Tree City USA certification.

• Promote energy-efficient initiatives and sustainable practices to reduce our environmental footprint.

• Advocate for the installation of electric vehicle superchargers to support a green transportation network.

Improving Quality of Drinking Water

Clean, safe drinking water is a basic right. I will:

• Invest in upgrading our water treatment facilities to ensure the highest quality water for all residents.

• Regularly monitor and report water quality standards to keep our community informed.

• Implement measures to protect our water sources from contamination.

Advocating for Conservation

Preserving our natural resources is crucial for future generations. I will:

• Protect local wildlife and natural resources through conservation programs.
